Visual Literacy Assignment: The message that is being sent in the picture, I think, is pretty straightforward: “over-consumption”. Whether this is true to the viewer or not, that is the message that I see. The actual pictures that are being used in the depiction are accurate to the message; referring to McDonald’s and KFC as some of the reasons for the amount of protein being consumed by Americans. I will say that I find the placement a little disorganized and even “forced” as if the creator was just trying to follow a certain guideline to how many pictures are needed (I’m not saying that I’m the fore-most expert in photo-shop, it’s just my opinion). The biggest thing that I have a problem with is the text: it’s blurred. This particular problem was very evident to me when I was coping the picture and editing it. I posted the best enhancement that I could do on my Wikipage and I’m still not satisfied with it. An image loses its message when it’s not well defined, hard to read, and, overall, not pleasing to look at. Something that I learned from this lesson is the problem that I might have has a MAC user: I had to rediscover how to copy, crop, and enhance pictures a different way than what was described to me. However, this is something that any user will have to get used to and understand the overall lesson that there is more than one way to solve a problem.
